my mum sent me this, very, mini christmas tree and these two elves that are too much to handle!
Anonymous asked: Hello! How are you? I was wondering what you think of leather ridingboots for this winter. Do you have a tip for the perfect pair? And, do you like/wear vintage? Thanks! x
Hello! I am doing well, how are you? I like leather riding boots all right. I own a pair of black ones, though admittedly I don’t really wear them that frequently anymore. Personally, I got mine from UO on super sale many years ago, and they have held up surprisingly well, I also take care of them and have had them resoled and reheeled a number of times.
I think the key to the perfect pair, to me at least, is to purchase a simple, classic pair. Don’t go buying a pair with a gaudy hideous metal ‘logo’ on the side [Tory Burch, etc. etc.] keep them classic, simple. Nothing wrecks a classic pair of shoes like an ornate metal logo. But then again, that’s just me. I prefer black to brown, looks more classic and less prep… but that’s a personal opinion too. I think black just looks nicer and I mainly own black clothes anyways.
If you do buy a pair, buy a nice pair that will last year in and year out. If you live in a place that gets a lot of snow or winter weather I would suggest owning a pair of proper winter boots- but that’s just my “I’ve lived in the snow belt” experience talking. Leather riding boots are nice, but your feet need something warm, and waterproof during that type of weather. No one likes that person who chooses cute shoes over warm toes- that person is just annoying when they complain.
I do like some vintage. I really don’t own much or even wear it that often. I just some jewelry handed down, or my grandmother’s simple vintage Gucci handbag. I would just die if I owned a vintage flapper dress, but that also has to do with my love for them.

Ankle boots… probably my Barnwood boots from Madewell, I wear them constantly. Best boots ever. But my Charlie Boots, Chelsea Boots and Bean Boots are closely followed behind. I just love ankle boots! I couldn’t live without my Barnwods though, I wear them year-round. xx.
