Anonymous asked: Are you happy at your fashion school? Do you ever feel like you have to do irksome assignments?

Yes and no; I mainly wish it was located somewhere else, that might be my main complaint. But like every University [I am going to assume] you have to deal with some ridiculous rubbish, but I mainly place that blame on the University, and not the Fashion School within the University as much. It is expected though as they try and improve an esteem program even more that issues will arise. One can’t get on well with everyone, especially in such an opinionated field. Other than little things, I do enjoy it. I have a number of professors who are brilliant [and some that aren’t] and I’ve gained such a vast amount of knowledge since beginning, and have had a number of great opportunities.

As for irksome assignments; my first year I had an irksome class that was full of projects that were a waste of money and time. We all felt that our time could have been better spent if they were to remove that class from the curriculum and incorporate something actually beneficial. Other than that, we began sewing and getting into specifics on the first day of class your first year, so it’s nice to jump right into the fashion related work and not just having a year of pointless art classes. I find that it’s more that some of the people, drama and administrative annoyances are the irksome factor.

Thank you very much for the question! xx.
