Woah, thank you! I feel very honored. 

For comfortable footwear, I think you have the right idea already; sneakers, booties or flats. Definitely my go-to shoes to bring for comfort [those and flat riding boots]. Just a few things to consider first.

• If you are anticipating rain, white sneakers might not be the best color choice, unless they are already a bit dirty. 
• Don’t wear booties that you can’t walk for long spans, over different street terranes. One of my pairs of ankle booties are very comfortable, I wear them all the time in NYC walking around. They look similar to the Marant Dicker boots; they have the low thick heel, but mine are canvas. Just keep that thought in mind if you choose to wear booties. 
• Also, don’t pick your trip to break-in any shoes, that is the quickest way to have feet that hurt. 

As for how to still look chic while wearing sneakers. It’s definately possible. I love sneakers and think they are a great to wear with casual outfits. I like to pair them with skinny jeans and larger sweaters or oversized t-shirts and button downs. Also, I like to wear them with jersey dresses. I think it’s a matter of getting the proportion right, you don’t want everything to look big and loose, because then you can look sloppy.
