Anonymous asked: How would you wear a pair of monkstrap shoes (like the Alexander Wang Ruby's)? Thanks!

I would wear them with either:

  • Over-sized button down, black ‘mini’ skirt, possibly tights
  • Blazer, t-shirt, black cropped trousers
  • Fitted button-down, sweater, black shirts
  • White/Black/Grey/Denim skinny jeans, sweater
  • Black or charcoal jersey knit dress
  • Black velvet tuxedo pants, t-shirt and a jacket

I hope that sparks so ideas! xx.

Anonymous asked: I just bought a leopard print cardigan but am unsure how to wear it. I'm not used to wearing such a 'loud' print. Please help! xxx

If you’re not used to wearing ‘loud’ prints, that’s fine. Keep the rest of your outfit clean and simple. Then you won’t feel overwhelmed! Some ideas for you to pair with it:

  • Black skinny jeans, chambray shirt, flats or boots
  • Solid colored dress
  • Black skirt, silk camisole, possibly tights, heels/flats/boots
  • Cropped trousers, t-shirt and flats

Hopefully those ideas can start to get you somewhere! xx.

Anonymous asked: Do you have any recommendations on where to find black loafers or black smoking shoes?

The two black pairs I own are from Topshop and Kohls. With that being said, I couldn’t find either on their respective websites. Zara also has a number. I personally don’t own then, but a friend has a pair and she likes them:

Also, if you are willing to spent a bit more, J.Crew carries them, as does the brand Sam Edelman. Also, I know you can find a number of loafers at Topshop or Asos also!

Hope you find a pair you love! xx.

Anonymous asked: Hi, just want to say that I love your tumblr. I need help finding a leather moto jacket that won't cost an arm and a leg. Do you have any suggestions? Also I'm looking for some oxfords for fall/winter... Help!

Hello and thank you! I’m going to be honest, it might be hard to find a true leather jacket that doesn’t cost some deal of money- that’s just the price they are due to the material! I will suggest going to a Marshal’s, TJ Maxx of even a thrift store to try and find one that might be less expensive. I purchased my leather bomber from Marshal’s in the Boston area probably 6 or 7 years ago, and got it for a surprisingly inexpensive price.

With that begin said, I don’t know what an ‘arm and a leg’ is to you, but I  will show you some of the less expensive ones that I found while searching. With that being said, they still cost a decent amount of money. If you look for polyurethane you’ll find a number of less expensive options- but beware that material can look very cheap very easily!

I just answered a question about some oxfords, so instead of copying it again I will just link you. Here! :]

I hope that was helpful, dear! Let me know if I can help with anything else! xx.

Anonymous asked: I'm looking for the perfect pair of dark brown or black oxfords for fall. Do you know of any?

Hmm.. personally I am partial to Cole Haan’s Oxfords. They never seem to have a nice brown/cognac pair though- unless you want neon laces or something

Other options:

If you’re looking to invest, they I’d say purchase some Chruch’s, but I realize that is not everyone’s option.

Hope that helps, love! xx.

Anonymous asked: Don't mean to ask anonymously - I don't have a tumblr account! Could you recommend a couple of stylish scarves? I love the sets you put together for Polyvore - a scarf always seems to be included, but many are no longer available. Any suggestions would be so welcome! I live in the Boston area, so material (silk, cotton, wool, cashmere) isn't limited. - Donna

Don’t fret, I receive most of my questions as Anonymous- tumblr account or not! I would love to recommend you some scarves. I love scarves! Most of the scarves I own are either purchased from thrift stores, street vendors, J.Crew, Gap, Madewell, Zara or given to my by my grandmother. So I would suggest looking in those places for an array of scarves…. Also, I love men’s scarves! Don’t forget to look in the men’s department- they get the far better plaids and tie-prints.

Some of my favorite at the moment though happen to be:

Hope some of those catch your eye, Donna. Also, super jealous you live in the Boston area, I love it there and visit as often as I can. I have family that lives shortly outside of the city. xx.

Anonymous asked: hey darling, I love your polyvore sets, I just bought some light brown, like beije, desert boots but i'm not really sure what I could wear them with, do you have any ideas? thank you xx

Hello! Thanks, dear. I love desert boots, I have a similar color pair also. I like wearing mine with skinny jeans [light wash, medium, dark or even black] and sweaters, button-downs or t-shirts. I also will wear them with my shorts during warmer months, with a loose and oversized button down, or t-shirts on top.

I hope that helps! xx.

Anonymous asked: Hello there! :) I really love your blog! and I love your playlist as well! you not only have great sense of style but great taste in music too! I'd have a question, I'd like to buy a coat for the November-weather, but I can't decide on the color. I have a long grey one for colder weather, and a short beige one for spring/autumn. I'm considering buying a navy one or a camel one. Do you have any advice? Isn't camel way too elegant? I want to wear it everyday to the uni. Thanks!

Hello! Thank you very much, dear, it’s so kind of you to say. I am pleased you enjoy both!

I would definitely say either camel or navy, but even black. I love coats in black, grey navy and camel, I think they are versitile. A camel coat isn’t too elegant for everyday were if you get a more casual style— camel coats are so beautiful. If you already have a beige one, maybe stray away from purchasing a camel colored once, unless it is different enough in color. If you wanted to go with a color, red is another option.

Personally I like my coats to be more neutral colors, but I have seen a number of beautiful red coats too, even more casual ones. I hope that helps you along a bit on your search! xx.
